The greatest generation should not be forgotten.
Our ancestors that fought in World War II against the Japanese in the Pacific demonstrated to the world the strength of "American Might" and our industrial capacity.
It was also shown that if we work together, or any challenge that we can not win, including the powerful Imperial Japanese Navy is.
Because I believe it is important to remember history, mostly because I do not want to see future generations repeat or be doomed to repeat the past, I'd like to recommend a very good book to you.
One thing I have in my own library, and what struck my grandfather read me, Flyboys, story of courage James Bradley (author of Flags of Our Fathers, a book I recommend), followed by Little, Brown and Company, Boston, MA published, 2003.
President Bush Sr. is quoted in this book, because it was a torpedo bomber pilot in World War II.
In this book it talks about the Japanese Savagery of captured American Soldiers and pilots, and the Japanese war culture which made it all possible.
The book comes in the complexity of the causes of the war in the Pacific, and the strategies it took the mighty Imperial Japanese Navy's defeat.
Despite what you think you know about history and of the second world war, there is a lot more that you should learn and there are things that you have been told, which are not actually so.
Of course, the nature of war in history, as history is usually written by the victors.
Eventually the truth comes out if you are willing to dig deep enough to find it and this is one of those books and it is why I recommended to you.
